The Rossville Consolidated School District Police Department was established to ensure a safe, welcoming, and supportive learning environment for all students, staff, and visitors. What began as a vision to strengthen safety and community partnership within our schools has grown into a trusted, integral part of the Rossville education family.

Our department’s history reflects our district’s deep commitment to proactive safety and care. Created to provide dedicated, on-site law enforcement tailored to the unique needs of a school setting, the RCSD Police Department focuses not only on protection, but also on mentorship, relationship-building, and prevention.

The purpose of a school-based police department goes beyond traditional law enforcement. Our officers serve as visible partners in education — fostering trust, guiding students, and ensuring that schools remain safe places to learn and grow. They work closely with administrators, teachers, parents, and community members to promote positive behavior, address concerns before they become crises, and model integrity and respect.

The benefits of this approach are felt every day. Students gain confidence knowing that the officers in their halls are not just protectors, but allies who care about their well-being. Families and staff find reassurance in knowing that safety is being handled with compassion and professionalism. And our community as a whole benefits from the partnership between education and law enforcement — one built on the shared goal of helping every child thrive.

At Rossville, we believe that safety and connection go hand in hand — and our School District Police Department is proud to help make that belief a reality.

Rossville Schools and Gaggle have a partnership to keep students and schools safe by providing a simple way for students to easily and confidentially report threats of violence, bullying, peers in crisis, and other imminent threats via the SpeakUp for Safety tipline.

Trained Gaggle safety representatives evaluate SpeakUp for Safety tips 24/7/365 and send an email regarding non-life-threatening items to designated school or district staff members. In severe situations, district-appointed contacts are notified immediately. In the most imminent cases, Gaggle will contact law enforcement to intervene if they are unable to notify a district-appointed contact.

The Gaggle SpeakUp for Safety tipline integrates directly with G Suite for Education from Google, which students already have access to on a daily basis. There’s no need for students to download a mobile app or remember a phone number—the SpeakUp for Safety instant replies include a phone number that students can use for text messages or phone calls.
